New iPhone4S release review

iPhone fanatics everywhere have been talking about Apple's latest release for their successful mobile phone line - the iPhone4S. Although it is not a complete redesign from its predecessor, the iPhone4, it does have several nice upgrades that might make it worthwhile to check out - if you can't wait for the iPhone5, that is.

The most impressive upgrade has to do with Apple's voice control software, Siri. Siri is extremely good at turning verbal instructions into actions and answering your questions. It is integrated with almost all the apps so it can retrieve the information you need, and it is intuitive enough to remember information you've just told it so you don't have to specify what you're talking about again. You can find directions, stores, and restaurants just by asking a question or talking to it as though talking to another person; Siri will return a list of results ordered by rating and providing information about the businesses. Furthermore, you can ask questions that you might search for on Ask.com or Google and Siri will answer it for you. Finally, Siri allows you to compose texts and e-mails verbally, turning your voice into text. It's definitely a step forward for artificial intelligence.

Another upgrade that has caught attention has to do with the graphics and the 8 megapixel camera. Both load faster than previous cameras and provide better quality - perhaps even the best we've seen in a mobile phone yet. iPhone 4S's camera gives other mobile cameras and even some cheap handheld cameras a run for their money. You can focus, lock, and snap a picture in a second, and the locking grids allow for better composition. You can also edit photos right on the phone, cropping, enhancing, transforming, removing red-eye, and organizing into photo albums without the need for a photo editor or a computer.

Another feature that's been widely praised is the dual processor, which is the same one that's used in the iPad 2. It allows you to load faster than previous versions, and complete tasks in a snap. You also have better Internet and device integration, that allows you to sync data with the data you have stored in the cloud and across other devices relatively quickly. Furthermore, additional memory allows you to use more applications in a shorter amount of time; you can order an iPhone4S with up to 64GB of memory.

You can pre-order the iPhone4S on October 7th, though it is officially released on October 14th. You can find out more information on Apple's website.
