With the increase of PDAs and smartphones such as the BlackBerry and iPhone, the world is beginning to see more and more great apps (also known as phone applications). Whether you prefer to play games, check your city’s weekend weather or simply download music, there is an app for almost everything!
Mobile or phone applications are categorized as mobile software – designed to run on handheld computers, personal digital assistants (PDAs), smartphones and cellphones. Many cellphone models made in the late 2000s include the ability to run user-installed software.

A newly developed mobile application called Task.fm has recently been released. It was designed to help those out there that are easily forgetful. Task.fm is an application that sends alerts and reminders via email, SMS (Short Message Service) and phone.
With Task.fm you are allowed to set up how you want to be reminded (email, SMS or both), how far in advance of each task you’d like to be reminded, and if you would like to enter tasks through natural language input or manual input. Email reminders are typically free, but phone and SMS alerts cost 1 credit each.
