The keyword tool is owned by a company in London, England. It has access to data from several very large metacrawlers – a system that searched multiple search engines for you. For example, type a word into Dogpile’s search box (www.dogpile.com), and the system searched at Google, Yahoo, MSN, and Ask.com.

Wordtracker receives information about what people are looking for from Metacrawler.com, Dogpile.com, and others. These searches are around 100 million per month. Wordtracker stores 100 days of searches in its databases, combines them and then allows it customers to search its database.

Specific searched are seasonal: pools in the summer, heaters in the winter, and so forth. Since the tool has only the last 100 days of information, it may not be representative for a full year for some terms.
